Event Summary

The Lightning event added electrical weather layers to Escape Tornado Alley: strike telegraphs, engine-stun risk, and charged token collection during rain phases. Permanent reference lives on the Lightning tornado page and How to Survive Lightning guide.

Status: expired in July 2026, but electrical mechanics may return in mutator weekends. Cross-link with the Smog Tornado event when multiple storm types overlap.

Event Mechanics

Players had to survive strikes without engine failure, read sky flicker cues, and avoid clustering under conductive props. Mobile players suffered most from mis-taps — see Controls for touch layout tips.

Keep wheels moving with gentle inputs — panic steering during strikes causes more deaths than lightning damage. Practice on the Survival Timer then apply rhythm in-game.

Vehicle choice: moderate speed with good grip beats ultra-fast cars that spin out on wet roads.
